GOLF CHANNEL INVITATIONAL FOR THE FIRST TEE ANNOUNCES WORLD GOLF VILLAGE AS TOURNAMENT LOCATION FOR 2010

ST. AUGUSTINE, FL (April 6, 2010) - The eighth annual Golf Channel Invitational for The First Tee will be hosted by The Renaissance Resort at World Golf Village in northeast Florida from Oct. 31 to Nov. 2, 2010, it was announced today by the Golf Channel and tournament organizers. The golf event will be played at Slammer & Squire, located at World Golf Village in St. Augustine, Fla.
"Our resort in the heart of World Golf Village will serve as a perfect location to host an event where young people from The First Tee can immerse themselves in golf's most inspiring stories," said Mark Schwantner, general manager of The Renaissance Resort at World Golf Village. The Invitational is a premiere national golf and marketing event featuring a two-day, 36-hole tournament. The event creates a first-class, competitive tournament experience for The First Tee participants, partners and sponsors as well as business executives and their clients to support and advance the goals and objectives of The First Tee. The event promotes and supports The First Tee in its mission to impact the lives of young people by providing learning facilities and educational programs that promote character development and life-enhancing values through the game of golf.

The two-day tournament will be played on World Golf Village's Slammer & Squire golf course, a design collaboration by World Golf Hall of Fame members.
