2010
ST. AUGUSTINE, FL (April 6, 2010) - The
eighth annual Golf Channel Invitational for The First Tee will
be hosted by The Renaissance Resort at World Golf Village in
northeast Florida from Oct. 31 to Nov. 2, 2010, it was announced
today by the Golf Channel and tournament organizers. The golf
event will be played at Slammer & Squire, located at World Golf
Village in St. Augustine, Fla.
"Our resort in the heart of World Golf Village will serve as a
perfect location to host an event where young people from The
First Tee can immerse themselves in golf's most inspiring
stories," said Mark Schwantner, general manager of The
Renaissance Resort at World Golf Village. "We are proud to
welcome this event, which will bring additional interest and

participants of The First Tee from around the country in the
spotlight of the World Golf Hall of Fame."
"With the Hall of Fame's mission to honor golf's greatest
players and contributors - and it being the centerpiece of World
Golf Village - it serves as the perfect setting for The First
Tee participants to play and be inspired by the legends of the
game," said Jack Peter, COO of the World Golf Hall of Fame and

Rearden, co-chairman of Osprey Events which produces the
tournament. "Having resort and golf courses at World Golf
Village embrace being host to this eighth annual event is a coup
for the tournament and is a perfect fit being home to The First
Tee's home office."
